Abstract

Web 3.0 represents a paradigm shift in the digital ecosystem by enabling decentralized, user owned, and trustless platforms powered by blockchain technology. At the core of this transformation lies token economics, commonly referred to as tokenomics, which defines the design, distribution, and utility of digital tokens within decentralized networks. Token-based incentive mechanisms play a crucial role in aligning the interests of users, developers, and validators, thereby ensuring network security, sustainability, and growth. This paper examines the fundamental principles of token economics and analyzes incentive mechanisms employed in Web 3.0 platforms. It explores token models, governance structures, and reward systems while highlighting associated challenges such as speculation, centralization risks, and regulatory uncertainty. The study further evaluates future trends in token-based ecosystems. The findings indicate that well-designed token economics are essential for the long-term success and adoption of Web 3.0 platforms.
