Plagiarism Policy

COREDAO VIP Research Journal for Web 3.0 and Decentralized Systems is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. The journal strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism and unethical publication practices. Submitted manuscripts must represent original research work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Plagiarism is defined as the use of another author’s work, ideas, data, algorithms, code, text, figures, or results without proper acknowledgment or citation. This includes direct plagiarism, self-plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, paraphrasing without attribution, and duplication of previously published content.

All submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism screening using reliable plagiarism detection software before the peer-review process. Manuscripts found to have plagiarism beyond acceptable limits will be rejected immediately without further review.

Acceptable Similarity Limits

The journal follows the similarity thresholds outlined below:

  • Overall similarity index: Must not exceed 15%
  • Single source similarity: Must not exceed 5%
  • Excluding references, quotations, and commonly used technical terms

Manuscripts exceeding these limits may be returned to authors for revision or rejected depending on the severity of plagiarism.

Self-Plagiarism Policy

Authors are required to disclose any prior publication of their work, including conference papers, preprints, technical reports, or datasets. Reuse of an author’s own previously published content without proper citation or justification is considered self-plagiarism and is not acceptable.

Extended versions of conference papers may be considered only if:

  • Significant new content is added
  • Proper citation of the original work is provided
  • Editorial approval is obtained

Plagiarism in Web 3.0 and Decentralized Research

Given the technical nature of research in Web 3.0, blockchain, decentralized finance (DeFi), smart contracts, and cryptographic systems, authors must ensure originality in:

  • Source code and algorithms
  • Smart contract logic
  • System architectures
  • Data models and protocols

Reuse of open-source code must strictly follow the applicable license terms and be clearly acknowledged.

Actions Taken in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage:

  • Before publication: The manuscript will be rejected outright.
  • After publication: The article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued on the journal website.
  • The author(s) may be barred from future submissions.
  • The author’s affiliated institution may be informed in severe cases.

Author Responsibility

By submitting a manuscript to COREDAO VIP Research Journal for Web 3.0 and Decentralized Systems, authors confirm that:

  • The work is original and free from plagiarism
  • All sources are properly cited
  • Ethical publication practices have been followed

The editorial board reserves the right to take appropriate action in accordance with international publication ethics guidelines.
