Retraction Policy

COREDAO VIP Research Journal for Web 3.0 and Decentralized Systems is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and credibility of the scholarly record. Retractions are issued to correct the academic literature and to inform readers of articles that contain serious errors or ethical violations.

The journal follows the guidelines and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for handling retractions, corrections, and expressions of concern.

Grounds for Retraction

An article may be retracted if one or more of the following issues are identified:

  • Unauthorized reuse of source code, algorithms, smart contracts, or datasets
  • Serious errors that invalidate the research findings or conclusions

Special Considerations for Web 3.0 and Decentralized Systems Research

Given the technical nature of research in blockchain and decentralized systems, retraction may also occur in cases involving:

  • Misrepresentation of blockchain protocols or consensus mechanisms
  • Unverified or misleading security claims
  • Non-compliance with open-source licensing requirements
  • Irresponsible disclosure of vulnerabilities that pose security risks

Retraction Process

  1. Allegations of misconduct or error may be raised by authors, reviewers, editors, readers, or institutions.
  2. The editorial board will conduct a thorough and confidential investigation.
  3. Authors will be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
  4. Based on the findings, the editor-in-chief will decide whether retraction, correction, or expression of concern is appropriate.

Retraction Notice

  • A formal retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article.
  • The notice will clearly state the reason for retraction.
  • The original article will remain accessible but clearly marked as “Retracted” to preserve the scholarly record.

Author-Initiated Retraction

Authors may request retraction if they discover a significant error or ethical issue in their published work. Such requests will be reviewed by the editorial board and handled in accordance with this policy.

Corrections and Expressions of Concern

  • Minor errors that do not compromise the overall findings may result in a correction notice.
  • If an investigation is ongoing and concerns are serious, an expression of concern may be issued until a final decision is made.

Consequences of Retraction

  • Retracted articles will be clearly identified in all journal records.
  • Authors involved in serious ethical misconduct may be restricted from future submissions.
  • Relevant institutions or authorities may be notified in severe cases.
